Have you ever felt like there's some special club you're just not part of where all the secrets to having a successful business live? Come on inside. Let's talk about it.
It's time for the Growth Strategies Café podcast designed specifically for female online business owners.
I'm your host, Teresa Cleveland, and I believe we can all make a difference and that having a successful online business is one of the best ways to do that.
Let's be real, though. Growing an online business isn't always easy. It definitely doesn't look sexy all of the time. AND it's one of the most fulfilling endeavors you can take on.
There are no secrets to building a successful business, there's just the stuff you don't know yet. We'll be talking about it all here at the Café.
Whether you're on your way to six figures or beyond, you're in the right place. So grab your favorite beverage and pull up a chair. Let's get to it.
Hi! Thanks for joining me for today's episode of the Growth Strategies Cafe podcast~
Hold up! What?!?
Did I just hijack Becoming a Profitable CEO?
Well, yeah, for all intents and purposes, I did.
But why, you may asking.
Look, I'm always going to be transparent with you and I'm going to share my wins, missteps, lessons learned, you know. This is no different. So here we go.
First of all, I just want to say thank you for listening and bearing with me as I've found my footing with our podcast. My goal has always been to support female online business owners by providing you with the tools to succeed, including interviews with other brilliant female business owners. That support is still at the heart of this podcast.
So I'm going to back up to the beginning of this year. And as we were approaching the beginning of 2021, based on feedback, I decided, OK, we're going to add a business-building episode each week along with our interviews.
Can I just say that that was just a bit industrious? OH. MY. GOODNESS! I grossly underestimated what that would entail. Have you ever done something like that? I mean, just jumped in both feet without really thinking it all the way through? Look, let me know. I can't be the only one out here that's done this, right? I mean, seriously. Right?!?
Let's go ahead and add in a bit of a medication debacle earlier this year. And this train went right. off. the. freakin'. tracks.
And along the way, I'd also been thinking and like in the back of my mind just for a few months now, that I wanted to change things up. The name didn't seem to be resonating and attracting my audience, and I really wanted to change up the format. So, mind you, while these thoughts were running through my head, they weren't really loud. Kind of like, you know, when you have a low-grade headache and it's not raging, but you can feel the undercurrent enough to know that it's there, but you can still work around it. That's the way it felt to me.
So I would brush them off as they would come up. And I would think, yeah, yeah, I'll have to really sit down and think about that one of these days.
Well, this week that happened. All in one day. I'm going to blame that on Mindi Huebner or I mean, I'm going to think Mindi. She was my guest back on episode 37, Are you wired for success? If you haven't listened yet, be sure to put it at the top of your list. It was so, so good.
Anyway, I ended up working with Mindi a few weeks ago on some of my mindset issues, and holy guacamole! It has been shift after shift, growth upon growth ever since. I expected good things. But I'm going to tell you what. It has been mind-blowing to me. There are some things that I used to just think about and analyze to death. Well, they kept coming up to the forefront, kind of like, you know, what's going on here with the podcast and changing everything up. And the difference is that this time, rather than putting them off for another day, they've actually become action items.
I've had the opportunity to dig a little deeper and the underlying driver or motivator has become that if I want to fulfill my mission of supporting online business owners in growing successful businesses, how do I need to show up? Who do I need to be? What am I doing that contributes to that? And what am I doing that does not contribute?
And that's now become my filter for everything that I do.
I've always been an advocate of "if you don't like it, change it. Whatever it is. So here we are, in the Growth Strategies Café.
I've realized while I want to provide you with the tools to succeed, my underlying passion lays in not watching brilliant women throw in the towel and call it quits simply because things get confusing and overwhelming. I want this to be a space where we can share real talk.
I want to be able to share what I see as truths along the way and calling bullshit on things I see as just that bullshit.
Speaking of bullshit, believe it or not, there are no secrets when it comes to building a successful business. There's only the things that you don't know yet, the things that I don't know yet. I really do believe that we're all here to support one another.
So if you've ever felt like no one invited you to the cool club with all the secret answers, I'm inviting you to join us here in the Growth Strategies Café.
I have no secrets. My guests have no secrets. And we're happy to share all that we can to help you build the business that you dreamed of when you set out on this journey.
I'll be here like I said, joined by guests along the way to share business-building insights, strategies, and resources to support and guide you in taking your next best steps. There will still be interviews. We're going to have one each month on the third Thursday. And that means next week I'll be introducing you to Sonita Reese of First by Five and we're going to be talking about some pivotal moments in her journey as an online business owner.
And then we'll be wrapping up July, the week after that with four of my pals to discuss four different project management systems to help you figure out if one (or none!) of them are right for you.
You're always welcome here in the Growth Strategies Café. I'm excited to spend the second half of 2021 with you.
