By now, you’re well aware that you can’t grow or sustain a profitable, successful business all by yourself. Maybe you’ve already hired a team or worked with contractors like Virtual Assistants, graphic designers, and web designers. Maybe they worked out long term or maybe they didn’t. Or maybe you’re limping along hiring people on Fiverr…Read More

“It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link of the chain of destiny can be handled at a time.” – Winston Churchill Between clients, staff, colleagues, fellow students and group members in my masterminds, I talk with a lot of business owners. I see some of the same mistakes over…Read More
Here’s a question you might not have considered before: Do you consider yourself a freelancer or the CEO of your company? Take a minute to think on that. Whichever way you answered, why is that? Just something to chew on. Freelancer vs CEO: What’s the difference? I want to preface this by saying that…Read More
One of the most fun (and most stressful) parts of online business is…launching.
That word might strike fear into your heart, or it might have you doing an excited little dance in your seat.
After all, launching is exciting! It’s a rush! But it’s also a ton of work, and if you do it wrong—and even sometimes, if you do it right—it can flop and be a huge waste of time and money.
Though is it really a waste if you learned something? That’s another topic for another post 🙂
I see folks get tangled up in launches all the time, and I want to set a few things straight to make sure you’re prepared to launch successfully.Read More
This time last year, I was sitting on the beach on Coronado Island on a work vacation. It was magical! I spent a whole month with my son in my favorite place in the world, working minimal hours because I had an amazing team to help my business run smoothly without me.
That’s one of the things I really love about my business, that it allows me that kind of flexibility.
I wish I could say I’m writing this from that same sunny beach, but I’m not. I’m home in freezing cold Ohio because my son is in Kindergarten now and this season of my life simply doesn’t allow for a trip right now. My business is also going through a growth spurt, which means it needs a little more attention and TLC from me.
However, I can honestly say that I love my business.Read More

If you have concerns about working with an OBM or if you just aren’t sure what an OBM does (don’t worry, you aren’t alone!), I’m here to shed some light on things.
Here are some of the most common misconceptions I hear about OBMs and working with them.Read More
One of my favorite things about late August through mid-September is that back to school vibe. There’s a slight crispness to the air that signals the end of summer and the beginning of fall. There’s a newness that’s different from the newness of New Years.
All the shiny new school supplies. New clothes. Excitement and growth.
Whether you liked school or not, back to school time probably still conjures feelings of endings and beginnings for you.
Even as adults, and especially if we have kids, back to school can still feel a little strange, even though we usually aren’t the ones going to school!
Parents are scrambling to buy new clothes and school supplies and get their kids ready for the school year, but why should the kids have all the fun? Your business deserves a back to school boost too!Read More
Stuck in the mucky middle of a giant project? Maybe you’re writing a book or creating a new ecourse, and you’re hoping for a second wind to carry you to the finish line. Or maybe you’re going through a self-paced certification course and feel like you’re losing steam. It’s easy to get into a funk when…Read More
Ah, burnout, that dreaded feeling that lurks on the edge of every entrepreneur’s mind. Almost all of us have felt that awful feeling when you’re exhausted, unmotivated, and you know you’re about to burn out.
If you’ve been in business for more than a year or two, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced burnout, or that you’ve come close. If you’ve been at this for longer, you may have been through burnout several times.
Maybe it’s something entrepreneurs just have to deal with sometimes.
OR maybe we’re doing this all wrong!Read More
