How an Online Project Manager Can Get Your Business Unstuck

Virtual assistant, online business manager, online project manager…you’ve heard all these terms, but do you know what they mean?   What’s the difference between these three professionals, and which one do you need?   I’ve written about the virtual assistant vs online business manager dilemma before. Here’s how to know if you’re ready for an OBM.   Let’s take…

Did that title make you say “Huh?” Or “Really, Teresa? You want me to start thinking about NEXT YEAR when the leaves are barely changing and I’m just trying to keep it together THIS year?” Yup. I sure am. Let’s be honest: Do you really want to think about planning 2019 during the holidays when…

Work Smarter Tip: Step Up Your Batching Game

You’re a successful entrepreneur, so you probably know all about batching your work tasks. I’m probably preaching to the choir here.   However.  When was the last time you examined your batch working techniques? Have you implemented any new tricks lately? Have you taken on any new tasks that are still running around on their own…

Back to Business: Get Your Business in Gear After a Summer Break

One of my favorite things about late August through mid-September is that back to school vibe. There’s a slight crispness to the air that signals the end of summer and the beginning of fall. There’s a newness that’s different from the newness of New Years.

All the shiny new school supplies. New clothes. Excitement and growth.

Whether you liked school or not, back to school time probably still conjures feelings of endings and beginnings for you.

Even as adults, and especially if we have kids, back to school can still feel a little strange, even though we usually aren’t the ones going to school!

Parents are scrambling to buy new clothes and school supplies and get their kids ready for the school year, but why should the kids have all the fun? Your business deserves a back to school boost too!

Business Tool Tips: Why I Love ConvertKit

You’ve probably heard a lot about ConvertKit. The question is, does it live up to the hype?

Here’s my two cents:

I’ve tried just about every email marketing platform out there and ConvertKit is my favorite for their tier of email marketing. Think Mail Chimp, iContact, Aweber, etc.

It works a little differently from a lot of the more well-known ESP’s, but in this case, different is good. ConvertKit rethinks a lot of the givens in email marketing like design and how to organize and reach subscribers.

ConvertKit has been a game changer for me and my business.

Business Tool Tip: Why I Love Teamwork

As an OBM, a huge part of my job is keeping things organized in my clients’ businesses as well as my own.

With all my clients, their projects, my projects, and several people on my team, there are a lot of moving parts to keep track of! Content creation, outreach, social media, research, tech stuff, graphics, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

There are always so many tasks going on in my business that it’s impossible to keep up with them all without a robust project management program.

I’ve tried several systems over the years I’ve been in business (don’t even get me started on the ones I don’t like…) but there’s one that stands out above the rest, that I absolutely LOVE: Teamwork.

How to Have More Fun in Business

Yes, business is a lot of work, but it should be fun too! Most of us start businesses because we’re passionate about something, but sometimes the paperwork and taxes and uncertainty and all the to-dos pile up and block our view of why we started in the first place. We get wrapped up in the details and lose our sense of fun.

So how do we rekindle that old spark?

How Delegation Can Double Your Revenue

You’ve probably heard about outsourcing a lot, but maybe you’re scared to take the leap.

It might be because you’re afraid of the cost, or maybe you just don’t know how to get started. Maybe you’re just so buried in tasks that you don’t feel like you have even five minutes to just think about tasks you could outsource, let alone find someone to take the work off your hands.

Believe me, I’ve been there, and I’ve heard (and lamented) just about every fear and hang-up in the book when it comes to outsourcing business tasks.
