What To Expect When You Hire An OBM

Thinking of hiring an online business manager, but you aren't sure where to start or even if it's the right choice for you?

Not sure what to expect when you hire an OBM?

Don't worry, most entrepreneurs feel this way before they take the leap. Most later report that it's the best thing they've ever done for their business!

Delegating and handing off the day-to-day operations of your business can be scary, especially if you've never outsourced before.

I totally get it, and I've got you!

Here's What to Expect When You Hire an OBM

There will be a learning period for both of you.
This is like any other relationship in life or business. When you hire an OBM or VA, it will take some time for you to get to know each other, to learn how you both work, and for the OBM to learn the ropes of your business.

Your business is as unique as you are, and a good OBM will want to treat it that way.

You'll need to share some info.
An OBM will need access to some of your accounts and programs in order to complete a variety of tasks. This information should be handled delicately and securely. At the Entrepreneur's Toolbox, we use LastPass to store passwords and such.

Some things in your business may change.
An OBM may point out some of your business blind spots. She might make suggestions for organizing your business and if you allow it, take care of those organizing projects herself.

Change can be scary. I've been there!

It's kind of like cleaning a closet where you go through everything you have, reorganize, pick up some new pieces and get rid of what you don't need. Sometimes it gets a little messier before it gets cleaner!

Ultimately, those changes will make your business run smoother and be even more successful.

Speaking of adding some pieces, your OBM may also outline some programs or software to help things run more efficiently. This will allow you both to make the best use of your most valuable resource: TIME.

Relief.
This is the biggest thing you can expect when you start working with an OBM.

You aren't running your business alone anymore. Once things click with your new OBM, you can expect a lot of the work and the little tasks that have been sucking up your time to go away.

You'll have a lot more space to come up with big ideas for your business, to create new products and services, and do the things only YOU can do.

More money.
When you're creating more products and services and have the time to work with more clients, you'll definitely see a boost in revenue!

More creativity.
With more time to work on the parts of your business that you love and take care of yourself, you'll create space for lots of new ideas. You might be shocked how creative you feel once the bulk of your day-to-day tasks have been taken off your plate!

More time.
Time with your family and friends. Time for yourself. Time for hobbies and other things that make you happy and better able to focus and function as an entrepreneur. Your business needs you to be at your best, and you can't do that if you're constantly fighting burnout.

Teaming up with an OBM can bring a lot of changes to your life and business. It will take some adjusting, but all wonderful changes do. You have amazing things to do in the world with your work and your business, but you don't have to do it alone.

In fact, you CAN'T do it alone.

We can help.

Ready for relief? Let's talk.
