This is your opportunity to make a good first impression for your website. Clean, clear, simple, and uncluttered are the words that come to mind when I think of effective website banners.
We read/scan from left to right and this applies to the web as well. This is why you’ll find the company logo on the left side of the banner on most professional websites. If you are the face of your company, if you are the brand, it’s just as acceptable to feature your picture there.
Tell me what I‘m going to be able to find or do here. You can do that with pictures and words. Show/Tell the results I’m going to receive by spending time here. Depending on your industry, you may also want to include contact information on the far right of your banner.
